Relocation of Water Supply Line in RATA AMRAL

The vision of MD WASA is to provide “clean drinking water for all”. The main problem of Rawalpindi city is that most of the drinking water supply lines are passing through sewerage lines. This is the major cause of water contamination and other water borne diseases. On the direction of MD WASA the comprehensive survey was started to sort out the problem. In the first phase of this project Street # 1, Ratta Amral was selected and old water supply line passing through sewerage lines have been changed successfully. Up till now approximately 10,000ft such lines have been replaced, re-routed and re-located away from sewage drains. This exercise has phenomenally reduced the bacterial contamination.
